FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1. What are your return/refund/exchange policies?

Returns are only accepted in the rare event that you’ve received the wrong size or color of an item, or your item arrived broken. Refunds are not given at any time for any reason.

(By purchasing QuteBeads, you understand that these are handmade products, and may contain slight imperfections or color variants than the displayed photos)

3. Do you offer pick-up/delivery?

Delivery is not offered with Qute Beads. Order pick-up is currently available Sunday-Tuesday 12PM-7PM, unless otherwise discussed. All pick-ups will take place in a public location agreed upon by both parties.

4. How do I tie my waist beads on?

See “How-To” page.

5. How do I take my waist beads off?

Waist beads are traditionally made to be tied around the waist & worn until they fall off or break.

However, some people believe waist beads & their strings collect one’s energies as we go through our daily lives, and so they cut them off whenever they see fit. People cut their waist beads off due to the seasons changing, emotional trauma releasing, and many other reasons.

It is all personal preference when & how you decide to remove yours. Cutting with scissors is suggested.

6. My waist beads broke - What should I do?

It’s time to buy a new set! You can collect your beads and save them for a new project: make an anklet or bracelet with them.

PLEASE NOTE: Qute Beads no longer repairs broken waist beads, due to time constraints. Giving the beads back to Qute Beads to create a new waist bead strand is purchasing a new custom set = $15.

7. Do waist beads have a spiritual meaning?

Traditionally, yes. Waist beads have many spiritual & cultural meanings across the continent of Africa, which you can read about here.

Did you know that just admiring yourself is also spiritual? Qute Beads waist beads are NOT intended as spiritual products (unless where specifically noted). Qute Beads waist beads are also NOT affiliated with any Orisha, Loa, or other deities or religions.

Once your purchase is completed, you are free to place your own spiritual intention on the beads.

8. Am I too young/too old for waist beads?

Not at all. Waist beads have been worn for centuries by newborns, toddlers, adolescents, preteens, young folks, golden folks, and at burial.

9. Do I need to be a certain size for waist beads?

No. Waist beads are for every body. If you have a waist, you can wear waist beads. Talk to me about specific sizing here, if you think you don’t measure up.

10. How would I know my size for clasp/non-elastic waist beads?

See “How To Measure Your Waist” here.

11. Are waist beads only for women?

Waist beads are for anyone who wants to wear them. I am proud to have had my products worn by men & women alike, as well as by the Transgender community.
